“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” John 14:16-17 (NIV)
Have you ever needed counseling? A counselor helps you unpack your current reality to bring clarity to your condition. The process doesn’t stop there. A counselor helps you navigate the terrain of life to get you to a healthy place where your personal health is vibrant, your relationships are solid, and your view of the future is bright. Sometimes you simply need someone to talk to who will understand your pain and patiently walk with you to a new level of living.
The disciples were blessed to have Jesus visibly with them. After announcing His departure, Jesus promised to give them another Counselor. Of course, Jesus was speaking of the person of the Holy Spirit who comes to live inside of us at the moment of our conversion. He is the Spirit of truth who becomes our resident Counselor.
Jesus is at the right hand of God interceding for us (Rom 8:34) and the Holy Spirit is living inside of us interceding for us in accordance with God’s will (Rom 8:26-27). We are blessed to have the ministry of unbroken intercession as a result of our possession. The Holy Spirit puts Christ in us and puts us in Christ.

- “To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Col 1:27
Get to know the resident Counselor living inside of you! He is your constant Companion!
