“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:1-2 (NIV)
Try to measure God’s love. There isn’t a scale large enough to calculate His love. You become a child after your physical birth. However, you do not become a child of God until you respond to His offer of salvation.
At salvation, you are not made righteous, you are declared righteous by God. He lavishes you with His love and you become a child of God. Your new position in Christ enables you to enjoy peace with God and assurance of eternal life.
Rejoice that you are a child of God and recognize that the best is yet to come. What you will be has not yet been made known. One day you will be like Jesus and see Him as He is.
There’s more to come! Enjoy each day walking with Jesus. Focus on knowing Him intimately and making Him known globally. Your position in Christ changes everything including the here and now as well as the hereafter.
