Perhaps you have heard the expression, “Life has no guarantees!” Well, that’s just not true. If you are “in Christ”, then you have a guarantee that no one can disrupt. God guarantees your safe and secure eternal destiny. How does God indicate the security of our future? Explore the following from His Word:
“Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.” 2 Cor 1:21-22 (NIV)
God gives His Holy Spirit to us at conversion. The moment we confess Jesus as Lord and embrace the reality that God raised Him from the dead, we are saved and filled with His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit indwells us permanently. He does not move in and then move out. His indwelling Presence becomes our guarantee.
“Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.” 2 Cor 5:5 (NIV)
