Included

“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession–to the praise of his glory.” Eph 1:13-14 (NIV)

Our in Christ realities continue to grow. Now you can say, “I am included.” Let’s take a look at the in Christ realities so far in our journey through Ephesians.

• I am a Saint.
• I am blessed.
• I am chosen.
• I am adopted.
• I am accepted.
• I am redeemed.
• I am forgiven.
• I am blessed with wisdom and understanding.
• I am included.

Remember, it’s not about your story that God plays a part in. It’s about God’s story that you play a part in. The wonderful news is that you are included! I am reminded of the lyrics from a powerful hymn by Johnson Oatman, Jr., “Jesus included me, Yes, He included me, When the Lord said, ‘Whosoever,’ He included me.”

Do you realize how much God treasures you? Before you chose Him, He chose to include you in His redemptive plan. Let that concept settle in for a few moments. Now, how will this “in Christ” reality impact your attitude and behavior today? What will be different about your outlook on life?
