Life on the Narrow Road (1)

“‘Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.'” Matt 7:13-14 (NIV)

How do you enter through the narrow gate that only a few find? What does it take to get in on what God has already made available?

Let’s take a look at three steps to entering the narrow gate:

Step 1: Admit that you are a sinner.

  • “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Rm 3:23 (NIV)

Step 2: Believe that Jesus is God’s Son.

  • “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in hims shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NIV)

Step 3: Confess Jesus as Lord of your life.

  • “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Rm 10:9-10 (NIV)

God loves us enough to make a way for us to be reconciled to Him. In fact, there is only one way to be restored to a right relationship with God. Jesus is the only way!

  • “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 (NIV)
  • “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” John 14:6 (NIV

Enter through the narrow gate. Jesus is the way!
